Great song (definitely the best song to come out since One Republic’s “Apologize” (and this is from a guy who tends to favor Metal music overall)). I Need You Now has a great story, awesome vocals and mostly well done instrumentation. On this song, they sound way more like a mainstream pop band than a country band. HOWEVER… this could be an issue: I want to get an MP3 of it… however, I hear it on KISS FM and I swear the version there is less country. Does anyone know anything on various mixes of this song? I have searched wiki and various places, I have found some extreme dance remixes, but I just want the version of the song that gets played on pop radio and I have seen nothing definatively discussing various mixes. Unless I am imagining things, the version I hear on pop radio seems to be mixed more for pop… the bass seems louder, guitars seem more polished than twangy, steel guitar is pushed to the back of the mix (or maybe even out completely), etc. All in all, there rightfully seems to be less twang in the KISS FM version. When I listen to MP3s on Amazon, the song here seems more country than it does on the radio. Any insight would be greatly appreciated… otherwise I am going to suck it up and just grab this version. My guess is the version on “Now 33″ is probably what I want, but that one is not available via MP3.

Normally the idea of a ballad being a kick off to a new CD is not what I am used to sure some singers do it and it does really well point in case this song. Lady Antebellum really shows that there still going strong with this kick off to their new CD due out next year. Hillary Scott & Charles Kelly who sing the main leads on this song are a dream duo and their vocals really shine on this their harmonies are fantastic. It’s a song of a love lost and with a chorus like this:
It’s a quarter after I’m all alone I need you now,
Said I wouldn’t call but I lost all control but I need you now
And I don’t know how I could do without but I need you now
You really can’t go wrong it really sums up the whole song.
Overall and in my opinion Lady A is back and better than ever if you liked their first CD you won’t be disappointed with this song at all.

I liked Lady Antebellum until I heard this song. I love this song! It is now of my favorite songs. A great country ballad. If you are not looking for a longing love song it might not be for you, although I wasn’t when I first heard it.

I had heard the name Lady Antebellum and had heard a song here and there. Thought they were okay, but nothing that really captured my attention. That was until this past week when I was listing to the top 100 songs at a download site.
And wow, just wow!
I was blown away by this song. From its simple piano opening to its simple straightforward lyrics, the song just conveys an amazing amount of passion and longing. And the guy who sings the lead has an awesome voice. I look forward to discovering more about this group.
